Random pics

I am really sorry that I have not updated the blog in 2.5 months!! I have received many requests, so here is a quick stab at it (I just added 8 posts ... LOL).

Having two babies this close in age is very challenging, but I must say, each day gets better. Cassie gets a little more mature, and Lacie sleeps a little longer. In the beginning, I only got about two hours of sleep each day, but that has since increased. Cassie is talking more and more, which reduces her frustration, but at the end of the day, she is still very young and requires a lot of attention. God answered my prayers, and gave us an easy baby (so far) ... unless it is feeding time, Lacie is pure happiness and full of smiles.

After 9 years in the corporate world, I decided to take a little break from work and focus on being a Mommy. It was a very hard decision, but the best for our family. I already miss my co-workers, but I hope to return to Anadarko when the girls are a little older. I am such a high energy woman, so my days are already full with a Mom's bible study, MOPs, Gymboree, Baby Boot Camp and LOTS of fun playdates with friends (I never sit still).

Wade of course is the best Daddy, and I tell him everyday that I could not do all this without him!!!
Lacie loves tummy time (Cas hated it).
I love those cheeks.

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with our new family of four!!

First walk with the double!!

I sure do love my double stroller, but man does it take up some room. It fits right in at Baby Boot Camp, but when we are out at the mall ... it definitely draws in some looks.

First walk!!

Labor ... very fast this time around!!!!

Well, I must say, my labor was much easier this time around. I arrived at Memorial Hermann at 7am (was 4cm dilated), started the process at 9am, was told that I was dilated to 10cm at around 12:30pm ... the nurse then called Dr. Westmoreland and told her to rush over from Westheimer Plumbing (she was shopping for bathroom fixtures ... too funny), started pushing a little after 1pm, and then Lacie Kate Watson arrived at 1:19pm. She weighed 7.10lbs, was 20in and an absolute beauty. Dr. Westmoreland said that she never thought I would go that fast, and she told me if I ever go for baby #3, be prepared for labor to go even faster (WOW)!!!

It was a wonderful experience, and of course I had the best coach ever by my side ... Wade. My Mom, Wade's Mom and my sister-in-law Courtney were also in the room.

Recovery was also very easy, which I am grateful for, considering I have two babies so close in age.

Update

I went to the doctor this morning, and she told me that I am 3cm dilated and completely effaced. She stripped my membranes, so we shall see what happens. Cassie and I took a walk before lunch, and we will take another family walk later today. I am hoping that Lacie decides to come own her own, otherwise I am to call the hospital at 5am on Thursday morning to receive an arrival time. Dr. W said that if we induce on Thursday, she expects it to be a quick labor since I am considered "ripe."

Fun times!!!!

Contractions started!!

Well, with Cas, my labor happened fairly quickly and fast. Wade and I were out buying "hospital" cigars at Specs for Wade to hand out to visitors, then I started to feel pressure, my water broke and within the hour I was already at the hospital hooked up to the monitors. I never felt any pain during labor with her, as they gave me an Epidural early on (against my wish).

Fast forward to Lacie .... as I have mentioned, I have been feeling a lot of pressure, and early Sunday morning, contractions started. Around 1:30am I started having Braxton Hicks, and then by 3:00am the real contractions started from my lower back and wrapped around to my front. Each lasted about 1 min and they came every 5-6 minutes. It was quite comical, as Wade had his track stop watch out ... crazy boy!! Finally we decided it may be time to go to the hospital, and as I began to get ready, they stopped. Yesterday I did not feel well, but today I have felt much better. Thank goodness, because I still needed to get the car washed, complete all the laundry and load the house up with groceries. So ... now I can officially say I am ready for Lacie to arrive. Once Wade gets home from work this evening, we will be taking a long family walk. I will see Dr. W in the morning, so I am anxious to hear if I dilated more over the weekend.
Getting EXCITED!!!
